The publication On Disappearance is the result of a series of collaborative efforts initiated by putting together a binding machine and the desire to rehabilitate the active verb of dying through a series of works and gestures focusing on hidden aspects and sticky tropes on this issue. This project is dedicated to the moments of disappearance we encounter or we miss in life; to the tensions generated on bodies and spaces and amplified through stories and impressions.
We reached out to a number of desired contributors with a series of wonders on how to utter a moment of disappearance and how to acknowledge the consequences of revealing the conditions of untouchability. Contributors responding to this call are: Maja Renn, Filippo Tocchi, Nadia de Vries, Görkem Baha Yalim, Savannah Theis, Ian Clewe, Maike Hemmers, Nathaniel Katz, Wilfred Vlad Tomescu, Flora Valeska Woudstra, Valentina Curandi and Leon Filter. This first issue of a newly collaborative intent called SpellBoundPages was entirely realised with mimeograph machines and interventions in risographic and fax-based duplicator techniques in collaboration with Woodstone Kugelblitz.
